In this ultimate guide, we will show you the best and the safest ways to conceal carry using a gun clip.
Most of us conceal carry using holsters, however they have a downside.
Holsters add more weight to your belt and are typically too bulky to completely conceal you gun, but there is a simple solution to the weight and size problem that we often encounter with our conceal carry holsters.
The Gun Clip completely eliminates the weight and bulk of a traditional holster.
Best Ways to Conceal Carry using a Gun Clip
In my opinion, using a gun clip is the best alternative method for conceal carry without a holster.
Simple but effective, a gun clip is typically made from light weight durable steel.
It eliminates the weight and bulk of a traditional holster, which can help you completely conceal your gun. It works well with both compact and full size handguns.
Advantages of Using a Gun Clip
- Better concealment
- Eliminates the weight and bulk of traditional holsters
- Works with almost any gun
- Can be used in situations when holsters are not ideal for concealment
- Gym, work, etc...
How Does it Work?
Gun clip is typically attached to the slide one of two ways: by using an adhesive or screws.
The adhesive gun clip is the universal method, which works with almost any handgun. Industrial strength adhesive firmly and securely attaches the gun clip to your weapon.
There is also gun specific clips, which are custom designed for a specific gun model. These are typically attached to the gun using screws.
All parts needed for the installation are typically included with your gun clip purchase.
Installing the gun clip is simple and easy.

Are Gun Clips Safe?
Like most of us, you probably agree that conceal carrying your gun with an exposed trigger is unsafe and sounds crazy! But, there is a way to do it safely.
2 Ways to Conceal Carry with a Gun Clip
Yes, conceal carrying your gun with an exposed trigger is unsafe and does increase the chances of accidental discharge, if there a round in the chamber.
Carry Without a Round in the Chamber
But, no round in the chamber! This sounds crazy to most of us, but it's really not that bad as long as you consistently practice using this method.
When your ready to shoot, simply draw your gun and rack the slide, which can be done quickly in one fluid motion with good practice.
One Round Loaded in the Chamber
Yes! You can also conceal carry with one round in the chamber while using a gun clip.
First, we'll need protect the trigger
There are several ways we can do this to eliminate the possibility of an accidental discharge while using the gun clip.
Trigger Guard Cover (Also Called the Trigger Guard Holster)
Trigger guard cover completely covers the guns trigger guard and eliminates any chance of accidental discharge. It has passive retention (meaning it's held in place by force or friction created by design).
Its easily removed from the gun by pulling on the attached draw string.
The draw string can also be tied to your belt or other clothes for a more passive draw that does not require you to pull on the string.
The force put on the string creates tension, which in turn pulls the trigger cover off your gun.

Safety Block
Safety block is a small device that is placed behind the trigger, which blocks it from being pulled back. When your ready to shoot, you would push the safety block out of the trigger.
I do personally like using the safety block and DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEVICE FOR USE with one round in the chamber, since it requires you to push and pull on the area around the trigger.
If you still choose to use safety block, I would avoid loading one round in the chamber for safety.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, I believe that using a gun clip is a good and safe way to conceal carry without a holster as long as you never expose your trigger with a round in the chamber, unless you intend to shoot.
