Streamlight Strion Specs

Here is some of my pros and cons when using this flashlight.

Pros

  • Compact - can fit in a holster or in most pockets if you don't have space on your duty belt
  • Lightweight - did not add much weight to my already heavy duty belt
  • Durable - it continues to works after years of police work, which includes dropping it on hard surfaces, using it to strike hard surfaces, getting it wet in the rain, etc.
  • Bright and Long Reach - the Streamlight Strion I personally used was 500 plus lumens.  It was bright enough for me to effectively use on duty in most situations.
  • Run Time - run time was good and it easily got me through a long shift.
  • Rechargeable - it's easily rechargeable indoors or outside in your car with a car adaptor to keep it fully charged throughout the shift.
  • Weapon Light - this flashlight is small enough that it can be attached to rifles or shotguns

Cons

  • Did not have a Strike Bezel
  • Small size and lack of a strike bezel did not make it a good improvised weapon
  • Button wears easily and may not always work properly
  • Can be pricy depending on the model
